March Highlights
Next Meeting – Wed, March 13 at 6:30pm- Holy Cross Church Basement- 118 Center Rd. Social time: 6:30-7:00 will be held in the kitchen area. The Boy Scouts have the room until 7 pm every Wednesday night.
Refreshments –(Karen Ross) ??? - Sunshine will provide paper goods, tea, coffee, hot water
Important Items
Quilting for Cancer Sewing Day –Holy Cross Church , Sat April 6, 10-4pm. Suggested charities- David’s House, Liberty house, Emily’s House and Quilts for Kids. The decision on charities will be made that day or after. Various size quilts will be made. Also, suggestion that we have the Penny Auction the same day. Last month, members took material and patterns and will bring them back as kits. Please let us know if you have any kits ready. Ann has some more fabric if needed. She will bring posters to the meeting if anyone wants to bring them to shops or stores to display.

Quilting for Cancer Sewing Day this Saturday, April 6, 10-4pm set up 9:30am
Please let me know if you will be attending so we can get a count.
- Bring-a breakfast and/or dessert item to share with the group.
- The guild will order out for lunch (pizza, salad...)
- Donate a theme basket(s) for the penny auction or bring items to include in a basket.
- Bring your sewing machine, cutting tools… there will be some kits available to sew

Program- Sally will be doing a computer design demonstration. If anyone has a quilt or block they want cutting instructions and fabric yardage for, bring the design. If you see a photo of a quilt but there was no pattern available or a paper pieced block, a block you want to change dimensions of say from a 12 inch to a 9 inch, bring it to the meeting.
Sally will bring a quilt / quilt top along with the EQ instructions, layout, rotary cutting directions, templates and fabric yardage needed

Program- Linda R. will be demonstrating the Double Diamond pattern. If you would like to try it out, please bring the following-
(3) Fabrics- Main, contrast and a background. They should be minimum 6” x 12” or fat quarters. The finished piece is 5” x 11”.
Rotary cutter/ruler and cutting mat.
Bring the special Double Diamond ruler if you have one.
Bev will bring glue sticks
Linda and Judi will bring irons and pads, more are welcome if you would like to bring

Program-This month we will be making Mitered Placemats:
Bring two contrasting fabric fat quarters, rotary cutting supplies and basic sewing supplies including a fabric marker and a walking foot for your sewing machine. Have your focus fabric cut before the meeting-14” x 18”.
